We just got back from an epic three days in Bawwwston filming Becky Robinson’s very first comedy special. Self-directed and self-funded by Becky, and co-produced by the awesome Michelle Caputo & Shannon Hartman from Art&Industry and Becky’s manager, Joe Meloche.
We’ve mentioned our work with B a little on here but as a refresher we met during the pandemic when we were cast on the same cartoon recording insane songs over Zoom. Since then we’ve written music for Entitled Housewife sketches, scored a tv pilot, written full-length original country songs together, handled any bespoke music needs for live shows, and Ryan’s even joined on-stage at some tour dates to rock the guitar.
We wrote the opening music for Becky’s current international tour, Members Only, which kicks off with an epic Succession-meets-country-club inspired orchestral piece, that drops into rock when she takes the stage while the crowd (voiced by Ry) chants FILL * YOUR * DIVOTS.
For the special we got to update some of the music from the tour and add all-new pieces! Including an epic Irish Rock track for the Boston intro sketch and a “p*ssy popping” (her words) electronic track when the curtains drop and Entitled busts out. We have musician friends old and new featuring on the soundtrack and we’re just really excited about it!!
Through the team at Art&Industry we also got brought into a few other comedy projects! Including the main/end title theme for Chelsea Handler’s most recent Netflix special The Feeling. That one is out now & you can watch here!
